The beating heart of Australia is one of boom and bust, of drought and flood.
The remote deserts of South Australia are littered with ancient ephemeral lakes. Where water is discharged into lakes makes for an incredible sight from above as the dried water fans across the lake bed depositing silt and salt. This image was captured above Lake Blyth in the Yudnapinna region of outback South Australia.
