Crescent
Abstract aerial photography can create images that inspire and intrigue. An aerial photographer can depict the essence of a landscape without relying on the objective subject matter, but rather relying on the fundamental design elements of texture, pattern, shape, balance, contrast and colour. By taking advantage of naturally occurring features in the landscape (such as the curve of the sand dune in this image), shapes are formed creating a path for the viewers eye to journey through the image.
Crescent was captured at 1,000 feet above the Nambung National Park in Western Australia. Nambung National Park is famous for it's fields of mysterious limestone pillars known as the pinnacles desert.
