Wallace Hut, VIC II

Situated on the Bogong High Plains a short distance from the popular ski resort of Falls Creek, Wallace’s Hut is the oldest cattleman’s hut standing in Australia. Surrounded by twisted and time-worn snow gums it’s easy to imagine the sound of the crack of a stock whip and the hooves of hardy mountain cattle and hardier mountain men. It’s a remarkable place, that I’m sure could tell a story or two over the years.
